Hydronephrosis :

Hydronephrosis is a condition in which the kidney gets swollen with urine because of a blocked or shrunk ureter. The impediment creates difficulty in urine flow to an extent, from the bladder to the urethra, resulting from prostate enlargement. Nowadays, those most pregnant women are having ultrasound scans, doctors are discovering more cases of hydronephrosis.

Hydronephrosis may also arise with an obstruction in the ureteropelvic junction, which may occur due to:

  • Blood clot in ureter
  • Stones in ureter
  • Narrowed ureter from childhood
